This place is an experience. Just watching the pizza being made is fascinating. The guys working the peels, sliding the pies in the cavernous oven, turning them and taking them out on a peel that has a handle that must be 10 feet long.
There are dozens of topping to add and they are fresh. Frank Pepe is famous for his clam pizzas. They are to be tried once, and you'll come back. There are no single slices. There is a small 12" pie which is quite a bit. There's a medium and a large. A large can feed a family.
This place has a lot of seating and long tables for groups. It gets busy around 5 pm, really busy. Many customers order ahead and pick up and go. The bathrooms are clean.
The only drawback is parking, finding a spot in the parking lot is luck. Metered street parking is available. This is the only Frank Pepe in New York. There are several in Connecticut, where it started -

I feel a little bad giving this place 3 stars... it's more like 3.4 stars if I could be more precise.
Ordered a medium pie half classic cheese and half margarita. Waitress was friendly and good. Place was empty as they had just opened. We were hungry since we had skipped breakfast and just finished a dentist appointment. By all means the pizza should have tasted fantastic. But it just wasn't quite there.
It came out steaming hot but with less char than I am used to from the previous times I've had Pepe's in New Haven. I have only had takeout from there and even cold that pizza was significantly better than this. The pizza looked really soupy. I grabbed a slice and sauce and cheese poured off of it onto the tray. Take a look at the photo and you can see the pool of sauce between the slices.
On to the most important part: the taste. Classic cheese: Flavor was pretty good but too saucy. Sauce is too tart for my liking. Cheese might also have something other than mozz because it tasted tart too. Maybe the sauce had just penetrated every last inch of the cheese. The saltiness level is about right I would say. Crust was thicker than expected and thicker than Pepe's New Haven. Tasted decent but nothing special. 6.3/10
The margarita was a little different but same story mostly. Too much sauce and too tangy. Felt like I was eating tomato soup on a flatbread. Also very little mozz on it. Twice as much would be good. Overall flavor was just a touch better than the classic. 6.4/10
Maybe the pizza just needed another minute in the oven to evaporate some of the liquid and firm up. But even with that said the flavor was overly tangy and saucy. I would go back and try it again if in the area. The other pizzas they were pulling out of the oven looked drier, more cooked, and just more appetizing. Who knows maybe those pizzas were 8/10s. -

The hype for this place is insane. When I mentioned I wanted to try the spot the amount of people who said they wanted to try and heard good things was out of control. Personally this place is overrated. I ordered 2 pies, 1 clam pie which is what they are famous for and 1 margarita pie.
The clam pie I get the hype, there were actual whole pieces of clam on the pie. I can see why people get excited about this, however the flavor was not good. Overly salty and pieces of my clam was over cooked. I was drinking more water than I was actually eating.
The margarita pie was underwhelming. Not enough cheese and the sauce was extremely tart. This was a below average margarita at best.
Side note. If it was just myself and a friend. Why was my pie cut into a million slices. Seriously, I can understand maybe if I had kids and they wanted to be nice and cut small slices but both pies were cut about 1000x. I was picking up slices I couldn't even fold. How does that make any sense?
I told another friend about my experience but she wanted me to bring her a pie anyway. She wanted to try it herself. Here's something that drives me crazy. Why would you just toss the pie into the box piping hot without a layer of parchment paper underneath? By the time I got the pizza to her the crust got stuck to the box.
I do have to say the crust is delicious. The texture and al dente-ness of it was near perfect. Too bad the toppings were terrible. -

This might be the place that makes me say in earnest, "The pizza in Yonkers is bonkers."
Right on Central Park Ave is some of the most delicious brick oven pizza I've had in a VERY long time. Frank Pepe's Original Tomato Pie is an absolute must try and I won't stop saying it until everyone who reads this review has it. I opted out of the grated cheese and added onions & hot peppers to my pie. Fresh, delicious & bursting with so much flavor with an awesome crust. Service here was warm & friendly and kudos to the layout of the place. When you walk in you can see where all the action takes place & see the pizzaioli preparing your pies (they come in S, M, L sizes). Go here & leave happy. -

Stopped in again last night and never disappointed. Wasn't pleased that my favorite clans pizza wasn't available but sucked down a fresh tomatoes basil pie that was amazing. Service is more of an issue than ever before. Noise levels pierce the sound barrier and the seating is rock solid. But if you're coming for the main course - pizza - it's well worth the distraction. Parking nearby Is funky and it's a small parking lot.
